Oklahoma Button Project
The Oklahoma Button Society has an ongoing project in which we combine buttons depicting various aspects of the state of Oklahoma with informative text describing the buttons and/or the aspect shown. During 2006, club members worked very hard to make pages displaying such buttons and information. Marsha Cassada collected and scanned these pages, and produced a fabulous full-color publication that was mailed out to all of our members. It looks awesome and we really appreciate all of Marsha's hard work! Topics covered include; Oklahoma state icons (flag, seal, animal, ect.), Birds of Oklahoma, Western Heritage, Domestic Animals, Minerals of Oklahoma, Crops of Oklahoma, Oil and Gas Industry, Spaceport Oklahoma, and Indians. Although the initial work is done, we want this to be an ongoing project. Some suggested topics are Oklahoma flowers, barns, and other architectural features. If you would like to make a page for one of these topics, or have ideas for a new Oklahoma page, please email the club
